Our story
Hi, I'm Chauntel, the mom behind Kazoo.

About ten years ago I started my first party planning business, Lulu Fete (it means "beautiful party"). I loved it then and I love it now, just in a different way. Becoming a mom changed how I see all of it.
When I started planning my own son's birthdays, I hit the same wall most parents hit: what should feel exciting instead feels like a second job. Paper invites or digital? How many kids do I invite, and do the parents stay? What kind of favors? Will they just get tossed? How do I keep it all within budget? Getting inspo-blitzed with themes and ideas and then having to figure out how to actually pull it all off.
Kazoo isn't here to replace the group chat you text for theme ideas. It's where you go once you've got all the ideas, solicited and unsolicited, and actually have to start planning.
So I took my years in tech, building products and obsessing over how things feel to use, and built the thing I wished existed. Every venue and vendor is vetted by hand. No junk, no ads, no pay-to-play. Nothing ranks higher because someone paid more. What you see is what I actually think is worth your time.
To be clear: we're not a party planner. We don't book your venue or run the day. Kazoo is for parents who don't necessarily want to hire a planner but still want the birthday to feel considered and easy. It's more than a directory. It's fun traditions when you're keeping it small at home, honest answers to the stuff nobody talks about, a done-for-you plan when you'd rather hand it off, and meaningful ways to capture who they are every birthday.
Most of what I suggest doesn't come from party websites. It comes from noticing things. A studio I walked past, a farm I took my own kid to, a room that felt right. But my favorite birthdays growing up were always at home.
Most planning starts from scratch every year. Kazoo doesn't. We remember what they loved, what fell flat, and what you swore you'd never do again, so next year begins where last year left off.
